To me, being a mother means loving, nurturing and caring for a child. It doesn’t mean that I had to give birth to my daughters in order to mother them. I hoped to teach them values and lessons that will help them survive and be successful in life. I made many mistakes and wish I could undo them but what is done is done and I tried to do the best I could. A mother is proud of her adult children and what they achieve in life. It is hard to watch them make what I consider wrong decisions or do things that I wouldn’t do, but I have to remember that they have to live their life just like I am living my own. I’m proud of my daughters because both of them are independent and living life according to their own terms. I couldn’t wish for more than that. I just want them to be happy and if they are, my dreams are fulfilled.Original image: 'social licking'
