Blog Prompt: January is National Soup Month. What is your favorite soup and why?
My favorite soup is Won Ton Soup. When I was young girl and would get sick, my father would bring home soup from work for me. He would wake me up when he got home in the wee hours of the morning and sit with me while I ate some soup. I really think it had healing powers because the next day I would be fine. When I was a teenager and didn’t feel well, I would call him up at work and ask him to bring home some soup. Now that I’m married, I still like to have this soup when I don’t feel well. Of course I like to eat it when I’m healthy too.

When I was a child, I had to spend a month in hospital because my appendix... aw, I'll spare you the details.
Hospital food is bad, in Germany as much as elsewhere, so my grandmother would bring me all kinds of soups to feed me properly. Mushroom soup, mixed vegetables with meat balls, green bean soup, tomato soup and whatnot.
Muhroom soup is still my favourite!
oh my gosh Pat!! When we lived in Hawaii, we had wonton soup all the time. I love it and hadn't had any in a long time. I loved the little scoop type spoons we would use with it. I need to find a recipe for that.
Funny - I chose my favorite because it was what my mom gave me when I was sick too. What is it about soup that just comforts us when we are not well?
And egg drop soup. Love that too. Haven't had a good won ton soup in years. Will now have to be on the look out for some. Wonder if one of our local Chinese restaurants has any?
Yum won ton soup. I like also like egg drop soup and chicken noodle soup.
