Blog Prompt - Today is American Red Cross was established on this day in 1873. Have you ever given blood? If so, tell me about your experience.
No, I’ve never given blood but it’s not because I haven’t wanted to do it. My mother and sister died from lupus and my other sister has lupus. Plus most of my relatives on my mother’s side have lupus. I am the only one in the family that we know of that doesn’t have it yet so blood banks won’t take my blood. I do donate blood to research to help them try to find a cure for lupus so someday people won’t have to go through what my family has gone through. I don’t know if I’m just lucky or if I carry it, but I would not want to give any lupus through my blood.

I'm sorry to hear that so many of your family has lupas, Pat. Maybe your donations will help.
a good feeling to donate blood Pat. And donating it to research is just as important as sending it directly into the veins of accident victims. The only difference is long term benefit and short term benefit.
have to agree with Karen. The fact that you are doing something to help find a cure is just as responsible as giving to help an accident victim.
How cool that you can donate for research purposes. Helping to find a cure for such an awful disease is definitely a good thing to do!
