My World and Welcome to It!

These are my thoughts and opinions about life in general. I also get daily prompts from DSP which inspire me to write. If I throw in some scrapbook pages I've done, photos I've taken, and stories about me, you will have an idea about my loony life!

Cherished Memories

Blog Prompt - You are spring cleaning and you find something that has been hidden for a very long time. It's something you cherish, but you are wanting to get rid of things that are clogging up your home. Will you have difficulty letting go?

No, I would not give it up. I have trouble giving memories up and you can tell if you saw my house. I save lots of things and love looking at them to reminisce about the times in my life from that item. I have an attic, office, shed, and rented storage building full of memories (not just mine, but my husband’s too). Now that I’m retired, all of my classroom stuff is in my formal diningroom. I keep promising that I will go through this stuff as soon as I have time. This summer I hope to clean out the shed and put our “yard sale” stuff in it (if we ever have a yard sale). This will give me room in the storage building for my classroom memories. We’ll see…

Ha ha oh wait we aren't supposed to laugh. LOL I cleaned out my spare bedroom a few months ago. I have trouble getting rid of stuff, too. It is hard to give up our things.

I need to get mad more often so I would throw things away, but alas, I'm a packrat.

I need to learn how to make my cherished memories more decorative :)

I love going in homes that are clutter free and most everything has a purpose and reason for being in the home.

My house is not like that. I have lots of stuff that is decorative and supposed to beautify my house then I have things that are cherished memories that are packed away?? Hmmm...

I'd love for it to be the other way around everything adorning my walls or bookshelves to be something of a memory and to decorate my life with those cherished memories.
