Write a Poem

Yesterday our prompt was to write a poem and I saw it while I worked at my husband's office. I used to write poems in my younger days but haven't done it in a long time. The last poem I wrote was for my great-niece when she was born. I thought about it all day and all night and could not come up with a poem. Finally this morning, something popped in my head and here it is! Hope you enjoy it!


I had to write a poem for my blog
But my brain is not wanting to think
I thought of poems of nature or kids
But I guess my brain’s on the blink!

I really want to write a good poem
But I can’t think of words that will rhyme
And if you hadn’t asked me to do this
I could do it all of the time!

I guess I’ll just give it up.
I really tried to give it a chance.
I’m just not good at poetry
So I’ll go out and water my plants!
