My World and Welcome to It!

These are my thoughts and opinions about life in general. I also get daily prompts from DSP which inspire me to write. If I throw in some scrapbook pages I've done, photos I've taken, and stories about me, you will have an idea about my loony life!

Current Project

Blog Prompt - Describe a special project you may be working on right now.

I am knitting a new prayer shawl. I found a pattern for a baby blanket that I liked and thought I could adapt it to this prayer shawl. But I didn’t want to do as many rows for the pattern so I cut out a few rows. I also want to make this in three colors because I don’t have enough of one color to do it all in one color. I use a lot of yarn that was donated or that I have bought at the flea market. I seem to be ripping this out a lot because I keep forgetting where I am in the pattern and it ends up looking all wrong since I’m doing the wrong thing on the wrong side. I don’t know why I thought I could change an original pattern since I am still a new knitter but I didn’t want to do the same thing over and over for 60 inches. I hope after all this hard work that it looks okay. We shall see.

I am making a blanket for our bed. It will have about 150 7"x9" blocks that will have to be sewn together. I like it because I can do a block pretty quickly and feel like I accomplishing something.

Awesome project! I used to knit and crochet. I haven't done either in a few years. You just might inspire me to pick it up again! Hang in there! I'll bet it's going to look great!

Can't wait to see the finished project. And to think it will be all your own. No copies out there to compete with it. And sometimes its the errors that make it even more special.

(Hey, do you think you could teach the Princess to knit? She's bugging me about it and I am NO teacher, LOL)

I have several knitting projects going on right now. I hear you taking it out and starting over. I've had to do that with some of my projects. Can't wait to see the shawl when it is done.

Great job on your hat. Good luck on your shall. I did complete my scarf and now am doing another scarf. I gave my completed one to my mother since it did not match my coat. Now I'm making one for my coat. I did finally find the baby quilt and will be picking that up again once I figure out where the heck I left off.

OH how neat Pat. I've never knitted before. Well, I take that back. I use to could knit a line or two, but thats it.

I use to cross stitch everything. But now I can't see that little stuff like I use to.

You must show pictures of it.
